Horsemanship
Horses are our partners and our friends. Horsemanship is a life
long learning process. We are committed to providing our students
with a strong understanding of the horse. We strive to provide
personal and affordable hands on instruction for youths, beginners
and horse enthusiasts of all kinds. We emphasize safety, fun and
friendships while learning to ride.
Lesson horses are available and are encouraged if you do not have the lasting interest for the investment.
Forms Of Riding
At Careywood Training Stables we train
in the three most common forms of riding; English, Dressage and
Western. We encourage you to do some research and choose the style
that best suits your personality. Each form has its own set of
uses, tack and riding styles. Also, each form of riding has its
own set of sports. No one form is better than another, your choice
is a very personal one. Which ever form you choose we are here to
help you become competent.
Private Lessons
Individual lessons are recommended for all new riders
and are also available to suit your busy schedule or specific
needs and goals.
Group Lessons
Group Lessons are perfect for the adult or Child who wants to
bring a friend along. Often you learn faster if you bounce the
lessons learned off one another. You see that you are not alone
when things are a little difficult. On the other hand if your
horsemanship levels are too far apart or you are schooling a
horse, private lessons are the most economical.
Family Lessons
This year we have added a new lesson category; The Family Lesson.
This is designed for families with two or more children or where
Mom or Dad want to learn as well. It is focused on safety, proper
equitation and the way the horse
thinks. These lessons do not move along as quickly as private
lessons as only one horse is used. If you are looking for two or
more horses, we suggest group lessons.
