What I do with a dog that is all of a sudden not heeling or paying attention to me during work outs. Is this, up your movement. Make it exciting! If your boring then the dog will be bored! So walk faster, make more turns be more animated! Use your treats, lots of treats talk to the dog, A LOT I always say, if your neighbors do not think your nuts by talking to your dog, then you not talking enough. With lots of just talking, good Sally, lets heel Sally, oh what a good girl your are Sally! Really up your movement with the dog, make working with her EXCITING! Here are also some ways I work my dogs with teaching the loose leash method and the plain walking method. Both are good, remember thou when heeling your dog, on walks do not make her heel the whole time, that is boring let her have some free time. I will heel my dog a block, and let her have a block of free time. Or if you need to get her attention then make her heel. But give her some time to just be a dog.
