& Longley Family (& Friend's) Pages! Our Christmas 2004
Newsletter has
just been published so you can catch up on this last year's news and plans for 2005. I've started a page with everyone's birthdays and anniversarys on it, kind of a family calendar. If you find errors - please let me know. If you have a new arrival or event in your family, let me know so I can keep it up to date. [Note: about 2 years ago I lost my old address book with all the birthdates, etc in it. You may think I have your information but I may not. What is on this page was done from my memory (which I can no longer trust) and other sources of information (genealogy notebooks, scraps of paper, etc.] A
Family Reunion: I'd like to do a real family reunion this
coming Spring or Summer but until then I'd like to envite everyone to
our new house over the Thanksgiving weekend (Saturday & Sunday) for
a
pre-reunion open house. Visit, see mom, have some coffee, tea and
lots of finger stuff <gg>. What do you think? (Send comments)
<>Our Move (Updated 8/4/05):
Our new
address will be 100 Madison, Ryderwood, WA
98581-9705. Our cell phone number (208) 755-3830 and 2 of
our email addresses (<patsu4@yahoo.com>
and <illuzionbengals@netscape.net>)
will still be good. But our cell phone will not work in Ryderwood
so we'll only be available by that number when we are about 6 miles
from home. I'll get our new phone number to you as soon as I have
it.
<><> As soon as I get a photo of the house, I'll put one up. It is a small "plane jane" 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with a small kitchen with a small pantry, nice sized living room, an attached garage and carport plus a "bonus room" that used to be a back porch but was enclosed. It has been used as a bedroom, hobby room, and for storage by the previous owners. The front porch I plan on enclosing into a solarium. We'll have a bedroom for ourselves and one for mom. The bonus room and garage will become cattery with the carport being an outside excersise area. <> I've given my notice at work and my last day will be August 26. That gives me a week to help Ken finish with all the loose ends and last minute details. We plan on actually moving Friday, September 2. We'll unpack as much as possible on Saturday while we have Randy's help and then on Sunday he and Ken will head back to Coeur d'Alene so Randy will be here for work on Tuesday and Ken can supervise getting this place ready to rent (preferably lease-option). <> We bought a big (24') Ryder truck and have been packing and loading it for about a month now. Things are going along fairly well but it is hard to tell if we are on schedule or not. I really don't want that last minute rush! So, when we head out, there'll be three vehicles: the Ryder truck, the motor home, and our Toyota pick up. We eventually plan to resell the Ryder truck but for now it will serve to move mom and then for awhile to use as a storage area so we aren't too crowded. 2005 Newsletter: The newsletter will again be available primarily on line again. If you'd like to receive a printed copy please let me know and send your address so I can be sure mine is correct. ALSO, if you have any news or photos you'd like to share about yourselves, your family, your trips, or education, promotions, moves (or other changes), births, weddings, graduations, or anything else -- just send me an email with the information. Let's make this the place where family clicks to stay in touch. <> Sad
News: Ken's mom, Josephine Tracy Longley, passed away over
the Christmas holidays. She will be sorely missed. I only
met Tracy a few times, but she was a dynamic woman with a very strong
will. I know that that will caused difficulties for her at times,
but it was clear that it must have also gotten her through many hard
and difficult times. She visited us shortly after having knee
replacement surgery and made me feel that I should be far more
active! Her ability to walk (mostly without even her cane) in
only 6 months was amazing!
.She also had a wonderful sense of humor, telling the workers at the airport that she had "bionic" knees. Her ability to laugh at herself made it easier to get to know her and probably also to get through the pain of that surgery and recovery period. Josephine Helen Tracy Longley 22 June 1912 - 23 December 2004 (92 years, 6 months). In case you missed 2003's Newsletter (or want to reveiw) it is still available here. |
