This is a very rare breed. Less than 30 whole cats exist outside of Kenya. America, a recent member of the international team to save these intriguing little cats, had only three full blooded Sokokes that were whole until March 2003. The effort to save these cats that was originally being done mainly in Denmark, with one breeder in Italy, has expanded to Norway, Sweden, Canada, Germany, & France (I hope I haven't forgotten anyone) and now the United States and Canada. Explore a Brand New Cat Breed! Currently you can see Sokokes at these locations: At the TICA show being held at the Regency Suites & KI Conference Center, 333 Main Street, Green Bay [This show has concluded but to read a report from Lynn reguarding how the TICA Board meeting prior to the show received our Sokokes go to the Show News pages and read "We are IN".] Washington,
Olympia - September 14, 2003
