Helpful Planning Links
Better Business Bureau
- Are there good vendors who do not belong to
the BBB? Of course. But by using member businesses
you're choosing to do business with people who care about what
people think about them, and who have a vested interest in
satisfying their customers. Membership also provides both you
and the vendor with an extra layer of recourse in case something
does go wrong. So check out the status of vendors on your
shortlist, and maybe the BBB can help you make your final decision.
INWED -
a site we maintain that contains information
on all types of local vendors. We do not vouch for them or
their services. It is up to you to make wise decisions about
who you choose to involve in your day. If you're nervous about
this, stick to our Recommended Vendor List.
INPRO -
our networking group site, containing information on many local
vendors who are all in good standing with the Better Business
Bureau. Again, we cannot vouch for these vendors or their
services. It is still up to you to make wise decisions about
who you choose to involve in your day. Remember to check out
our Recommended Vendor List.

This is where a friend got all her little organza bags for her
wedding favors.
save-on-crafts.com - a great
resource for the little bags and other favor-ish items. Try
not to go wild!

I've never
shopped here, but they have a lot of fun looking stuff, including
bride and groom bottle koozies.
Flowers by Mary Lynne - I found
this site and it sparked some fun ideas for me. She uses wire
and jewelry to make more interesting corsages and boutonnieres.
Try shopping the thrift stores for vintage costume jewelry, or if
you're crafty make your own beaded bracelets, for the florist to
attach mom & grandma's corsages to. Then, when the flowers are
long gone, they'll still have a lovely keepsake of your beautiful
day. Worried about grandma being able to fasten her
bracelet-corsage? Consider using a
magnetic clasp.
Magnets for Corsages
- If you want lapel corsages, magnets are a far better
way to attach them than with pins! They won't damage delicate
fabrics or skin. For you do-it-yourselfers here's a resource.
Ask your florist about using magnets, and if there's a significant
up-charge ask if you can supply them yourself - they're very
inexpensive! These are NOT an option for anyone with
pacemakers.
Spokane Arena - it can be
helpful to know whether there is a Chiefs or Shock game the night of
your event. Games generally start at 7, so if your
guests arrive at 6 they'll get the metered street parking (only
.25/hour until 7pm, M-Sat.) If they're arriving after 6:30 or
so they may have to pay event parking at the Arena ($5) or use our
gravel parking lot behind the building (a flight of open-grate
stairs to the door.)
Sunset - this site will tell
you when the sun sets the day of your wedding, which could help you
greatly in planning an outdoor ceremony or a dancing reception.
You don't want the dancing to start until at LEAST sunset for
maximum boogie.
