Believed by the
Initiates, the planet had begun as a satelite of a distant sun in one of the Blue Galaxies , moved several times by Priest Kings seeking a new star. The Theory of the Sun Shield - Gor was placed as a counterpoise to earth in the
same orbit using the sun as a shield effectively preventing its presence from being detected.
Ar
The largest, most populous and luxurious of all Gor. Its walls, its countless cylinders, its spires and
towers, its lights and beacons, the high bridges are unbelievably exciting and fantastic, particularly as seen from the more lofty bridges on the roofs of the higher cylinders. Ar is most marvelously viewed when seen at night from
tarnback. All gorean cities save one are built by free men.

the Morning. Tarl Cabots chosen Home Stone. Reduced to ashes by the Priest Kings...later to be rebuilt back to its former splendor.
Port Kar
Referred to as The Tarn of the Sea. Lies in the delta of the Thassa Sea. Her
name is a synonym in Gorean for cruelty and piracy. The fleet of tarn ships are the scourge of Thassa plying their trade of plunder and enslavement from the Ta-Thassa Mts of the southern hemisphere to the ice lakes of the
North,westward beyond the terraced island of Cos and rocky Tyros, with its labyrinths of vart caves. This northern city has no cylinders...it is built like a fortress over many canals of the Thassa waters. The only city in Gor
built by slaves.
Schendi
The port of Black slavers. Noted for its exquisite blue sapphires and the intricate panther carvings using red sapphires {rubies}.
Tharna
The one city in all of Ar ruled by a female...Tatrix of Tharna.
Tor
A desert city loacated in the Tahari Desert
Torvoldsland
One of the northen cities on Gor...A major seaport on the northern coast.
Treve
City fortress found in the Thentis Mts. Can only be reached by tarn.
The islands of Cos and Tyros
Two islands that bost a fleet comparable to Port Kar. Almost since the beginning of time these two cities have been at war with Ar.
Red Mts
greatest mountain range on Gor. Also called the Voltai range - south of the Vosk river, east of Ar.
Called red because of the huge deposits of iron oxide found there.
Sardar Mts
Home it is said of the Priest Kings of Gor. Men are forbidden on this mountain. All those who have dared to
climb it have never returned except for Tarl Cabot.
Thentis Mts
A treacherous range, noted for her fierce tarn flocks.
Thassa Sea
One of the largest seas on Gor. Major site of historic naval battles.
Vosk River
One of the largest
rivers on Gor. The channels of the Vosk shiftfrom season to season, the delta often little more than a trackless marsh, perfect for the growth of rence.
