These frequently asked
questions are answered here to insure that your time spent with
the teacher is quality time.
- What did we do last time in class?
- What can I do for BONUS? How about cookies or Mountain
Dew?
- Dew and cookies will get you a smile or maybe an
occasional tardy erased but your only bonus options can
be found on the website.
- What's my grade right now?
- Every time you take a test or the teacher posts
grade updates you should record scores for all activities
on your personal
grading sheet. To calculate your grade after completing
a new assignment use the provided
grading scale.
- Do I have to bring my grading sheet to this class every
time?
- May I use the hall pass?
- Use the hall pass twice a week for 5 minutes max.
One person only. Sign the "guest book" when you
leave and return. If the pass is gone longer than 10 minutes
I will retake roll immediately. If you appear to be a "frequent"
pass user your pass privilege will be suspended.
- Can I retake a test?
- Yes, as many times as you like until you get the
grade you like, EXCEPT for end of term tests and the district
semester final (only once on these). This is made possible
by a computer program that does all the hard work of generating
new and unique tests without a complaint.
- Can I take a Chapter Test at home?
- If you have a PC computer you can use the test program
(SEM1 : SEM2)
at home and email
the generated file to me as an attachment or bring it in
on a floppy.
- Can I make up a lab I missed?
- You have 1 week to make up a lab after which time
you will have to replace it with bonus
work (only 2 lab substitutions allowed per semester).
- Why do we have to use the computer so much?
- Can I check my email, chat or play a game?
- If I'm all caught up with everything what can I do?
- Look ahead and get ahead! Preview future labs
and workshops or do advance bonus
for future rainy days!
- What do I do if I'd like to study at home, and have a
computer but no internet access?
- Check out a class CD ($1 deposit) and copy all
the tutorials, workshops, labs and programs used in class
