As the owner of a Traditional Archery Shop/Hunting Store, I see a lot of new products come and go. When Snake River Scents were presented to me at my shop, I instantly was impressed by the smell and by the delivery system. By the scent alone I figured that the "Cow in Heat" (urine estrus Elk) was an authentic product. There is no way that pungent and unique smell could be re-produced. After using the product with my sons and hunting partiners, I am convinced that these are terrific and extremely worthwile products. Here are three of my personal observations from hunting this year: Before every outing last season, my sons and hunting partners would rub Cow in Heat scent on the bottom of our pant legs. While hunting with my 17 year old son, I had the most amazing experience. We were calling to a nearby herd bull with cows. The elk were down hill from us, but as the thermals were rising, we were upwind from the animals as it should be. My son was in "best" position nearest the elk. I got a surprise when a satellite bull came from uphill of me (down wind). Now we are very careful about human scent control, but I still do not get elk coming in close from down wind. I hate to admit it, but I missed that elk on an arrow deflection at 18 yards. Fortunately that elk did not know it had been shot at. It jumped downhill 15 yards and crossed the area where my son walked. Its nose went down and like bulls I have seen trailing cows, he literally trailed my son who was 75 yards below me. When the bull got within 15 yards of my son, head on, Tommy adjusted the grip on his longbow, That bull pegged his fingers moving and a staring match ensued. The elk mved away warily. Myself, and my son, both had these close encounters that were definitely directly related to the use of Snake River Scents "Cow in Heat". Enclosed is a picture of my 16 year son Dan and his 6x6 Bull Elk taken with his Chastain Recurve Bow (while using Snake River Scents.) One evening, my son spotted a large group of elk using a particular series of meadows within our hunting area. The next day, the boys got into the most likely ambush area ahead of the elk. Upon their arrival in the meadow, they were met with swirling winds. Not 15 minutes after their arrival they were also met with the sight of arriving elk. They made the best of the situation, and hunkered in for an ambush as a feeding and occasionally bugling bull was headed their way. They chose not to call, as the night before they had picked their ambush spot well. In swirling winds, that bull fed to within 20 -yards of Dan, His shooting practice, patience, and hard work resulted in a tremendous trophy for anyone, let alone a 16 you old. The benefits of the scent were not as dramatically evident as the bull that "Tracked Us", but there is no doubt that the scent could have made the entire difference in swirling wind. My hunting partner Kim Herzfeldt took an exceptional bull the next morning out of tree stand. He is convinced that Snake River Scents made the difference for him as his bull came in on the scent trail he had laid down to his stand, and was down wind and stationary when his shot was taken. While with a friend deer hunting in November, I rubbed the Estrus Whitetail Scent on my boots and lower pant legs while walking into my tree stand. When I got into the stand, I rubbed the pull up cord across my pants as I fed it below me to hang in the breeze. I personally observed a Whitetail buck cross my trail, and then track me to the base of the tree where I was standing. That deer sniffed the pull up cord for 30 seconds. Iwill use Snake River Scents from now on. The stick is so easy to use compared to anything else I have seen, and it keeps the product fresh for use next year (also not like anything else I have seen). There is no doubt to me that Snake River Scents improve my odds of taking game. I heartily endorse and recommend the use of Snake River Scents.
