My dad and I were hunting in a area that we have taken elk out of in the past. Just before heading into the top end of the canyon we stopped, descented and applied "Stick-O-Scent" Elk Herd on our clothing and packs. We entered the top of the canyon and the wind was blowing down the hill where we knew the elk would be bedded down. We approached the elk's bedding from upwind because of the way the land laid. In the past we would always push elk out of this area, but only hear or see glimpse of the elk as they were leaving. It was a different case that day. As we entered into the elk's bedding area there were no sounds of thundering hooves. We thought there wasn't any elk in the area but to our suprise two bulls stood up about 90 yards down wind of us and just stood there. They presented me with a perfect shot and I downed my first elk! I believe that if it wasn"t for the "Stick-O-Scent" I would of never got that shot because the elk usually took off before we could even get down there.
