NE of Deer Park near Mount Spokane!?

Somewhere out NE of Deer Park we took some back roads headed up by Big Meadows and the Elk-Chattaroy road. Don't ask me exactly where, 'cause I'll probably not know. After meeting up with around 7 other rigs, we got going. Here are some pics from that run 8/15/99. Thanks to YotaKiller (Kevin) for inviting me and I really enjoyed meeting all you other 'characters'!

Here we all are stopped at a wide clearing with 2 or three ways to go. YotaKiller and a friend headed out on ATV's to scout us a route. They came back and told us to fire up and follow them. They found us a doozy. I didn't get any digital pics of the next obstacle because I was too busy video taping it. Soon I'll have a sort of animated gif of our rigs descending the hill.
This is the view off the mountain looking to the right (in the pic above). Out and a little to the left would be Deer Park. It looked like mountains and forest to me!
After descending the hill we headed up more mountain top. We had to move some large trees before this path was open. It doesn't look very bad, but it was kind of steep.
This ended up being as high as we could find trails to climb. Everyone found a stump to park up on (well, almost all), and everyone stood around and gawked for some time. The next pic is a shot from the other way, pretty interesting isn't it.
How'd he get up there? Convienient stumps, not?
All that was between this mountain top, and Mount Spokane seemed to be a couple of ridges. It looks simple from up here!
Two pictures up, if he would turn around he'd be looking down this slope. This was reall steep and off camber in a few places. I wouldn't want to try this in much snow or ice... you'd stop at the bottom though, just which bottom is uncertain. It was steep!
That about does it. After returning home around 3PM, my son who didn't make it that morning said he wanted to go to 7 Mile ORV area. I said OK, but I had to go grease up the u-joints. I heard a distinct squeakyness during the morning. This is what I found, the right front spindle joint had spit out a bearingh cap. I discovered later that both the spindle and axel yoke where shot, bent to much. And much to my dismay, THAT wasn't the squeaky! Main Driveshaft awaiting pay day as I type!
