INLAND EMPIRE MODEL A FORD CLUB OF AMERICA

TOUR RULES

1. All current State Traffic laws will be strictly adhered to during touring hours.

2. On single lane roads, 2 or 3 car lengths should be allowed between cars.

3. Drivers of tour vehicles must be aware of normal traffic approaching from the rear. Upon the approach of normal traffic, tour vehicles will move over to the far right where possible, and continue on the shoulder of the roadway until traffic has passed.

4. After normal traffic has passed the touring vehicle, the touring vehicle or vehicles, shall return to the roadway.

5. In accordance with the statutes of the State of Washington, no more than five (5) cars of normal traffic can approach those vehicles in the tour without being allowed to pass.

6. The slowest car will lead the tour behind the Tour Leader. Modern Detroit Iron and new cars shall be placed in the rear to assist any cars disabled.

7. It is recommended that proper equipment and necessary repair equipment and tools, including fire extinguishers, shall be in all touring automobiles.

  1. All Model A members must carry proof of insurance in their vehicle as required by the

State of Washington.

  1. During a tour, the car in front will watch the immediate car behind. In the event that the car behind has trouble of any kind, or is lost from the front car's driver's vision, then the front car will drop back until said back car comes into view or determination is made as to the fault of the rear car. This is called "The Buddy System" and will be effective so that there should be no lost cars or lend assistance to a troubled vehicle.
  2. 9a. The driver of each car should adopt a "Buddy" and make sure your buddy is with the group when leaving a stop and knows where the group is going. That way nobody will be left behind.

  3. After leaving heavily regulated traffic areas, a stop will be made to reform the tour.
  4. When you have been designated as "drop car", DO NOT leave your post until the last car of

the tour has gone by. The Tour Leader will give you instructions regarding point of drop,

last car of the tour, etc…

12. All cars starting the tour will stay with the tour until the designated end of the tour. If you

must leave the tour be sure to inform the tour leader. Don’t leave everyone wondering what happened to you. Search parties are time consuming!

REMEMBER -- This is your club. Courtesy results in dignity-be proud-help any tour member you can at stops, and follow the Tour Leader's directions as best you can. Anything you do not understand, ask him! Be sure to have FUN-FUN-and MORE FUN!!
