Icehouse Policies

The policies herein will offer perspective toward Icehouse Internet's legal standing and capacities. Icehouse continually strives to be the best Internet Provider in the region, and these policies represent our effort to give you the most reliable service possible.


Icehouse Internet reserves the right to modify or remove any of the following policies, as well as add any that are deemed neccessary.

Icehouse Internet will not be liable for any damages or problems caused by the downloading or execution of any product distributed by Icehouse, found on the Internet, or purchased. Nor will Icehouse be liable for any hardware faults that may become apparent during or after the customer's term with Icehouse Internet.

Icehouse Internet does not work directly with any phone company, and will not be responsible if the customer's phone line will not maintain connections, or passes data to and from our servers at an inadequate rate. The customer is encouraged to read their phone companies policies concerning their line's capabilities.

Icehouse Internet reserves the right to remove access to accounts of any type without cause. This includes, but is not limited to, dial-up accounts, domains and full-time circuits.



Payment is due prior to activation of any Icehouse Internet service. Payments may be made by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) over the telephone, or by check or cash within one of the Icehouse Internet offices.

There is a twenty dollar($20 US) charge on all returned checks.

AutoCharge service is available for Visa and MasterCard customers, with the following rules applying:
  • Notification of any changes to the credit card, such as a new card number, new expiration date or new cardholder, is the responsibility of the customer.
  • Icehouse Internet requires a written request from the cardholder to terminate AutoCharge.
  • Icehouse will not return payments after 7 days from the date posted. After the 7 days, no refund will be granted
  • AutoCharge payments may be made anywhere from 15 to 1 day in advance of a due date. AutoCharge is an automated payment option.



Refunds on narrowband or broadband services will only be issued if the following criteria are met:
  • All cancelled services will be cancelled as of the last day of the current invoiced coverage period. For example if your coverage period is March 15th – April 15th and you cancel on April 1st your effective cancellation date will be April 15th. This is for all monthly and quarterly accounts
  • All cancelled services are subject to a one-time cancellation fee of $20. This does not include email services.
  • Refunds will only be issued on Semi-Annual or Annual service if termination is requested within the first month of service for a refund. Customer requesting termination after the first month of the coverage period will not receive a refund.
  • A twenty dollar($20 US) cancellation fee will be charged to all refunds. If after the twenty dollar fee, the refund will fall below zero dollars, no refund will be issued. On one, three and six month dial-up accounts, the setup fee will serve as the twenty dollar cancellation fee, unless the account was activated with no setup or a reduced setup fee. In the event that no setup fee or a reduced fee was charged, the remainder of the cancellation fee will be deducted from the service fee. On annual accounts the cancellation fee will be deducted from the service fee .
  • Services cancelled within the first seven days of a coverage period will be cancelled as of the beginning of the coverage period. One-time cancellation fees may apply
  • All past due accounts are subject to restriction once they are seven days past the due date. Accounts that are restricted or past due for more than 30 days are subject to a $10 reconnection fee.
Dial-Up accounts will not be temporarily deactivated by customer request without approval of the Icehouse Internet administrative staff. Requests will be handled on a case by case basis.

Simultaneous logons are prohibited. The use of multiple logins requires additional resources of which customer is liable for additional fees. If a customer wishes to have more than one user connected at any given time, Icehouse can provide such access at an additional cost to the individual customer.

DSL accounts follow the same policies as Dialup accounts, with the following additional policies:

* Customer is subject to local Telco restrictions and issues, such as time restrictions on line usage, quality, and local installation.

* Customer is responsible for any and all security applying to the service. Icehouse will in no way block or filter ANY type of traffic destined to the customer's premise.

* Customer is responsible for all local area networking issues, including, but not limited to:
  • IP addressing
  • LAN administration
  • Server and host administration


Icehouse prohibits the use of mass e-mailing through our servers without the exclusive permission of Icehouse Internet.

Icehouse prohibits the use of any references toward Icehouse Internet in any message sent via mass e-mail.

If mass e-mailing is conducted through an Icehouse account, Icehouse Internet reserves the right to remove the account and charge the owner of the account a rate of $500 per hour to repair or resolve all damages incurred, including but not limited to, server downtime, mail server cleanups, and IP banning from newsgroups or IRC servers.



Icehouse Internet prohibits the use of a personal website to traffic pornography or anything deemed illegal in the states of Washington or Idaho.

Icehouse Internet will not be liable for the content of a customer's website. This content is the sole responsibility of the customer and any copyright or trademark violations, or other problems that might arise from the site's content, will find the customer liable.



Once a non-dialup account becomes overdue for a period greater than or equal to sixty(60) days, all equipment and files become the property of Icehouse Internet and are subject to auctioning or deletion for compensation of monies due or the collection of monies due will be referred to outside agencies. Monies due will include previous invoices as well as finding fees and legal fees.

All domains, co-location servers and static services must be cancelled in writing before Icehouse Internet will release them from the Icehouse DNS and billing system.
