These are the only 3 files that every diehard Daggerfall player should have. Anything else is just an accessory.

This is the file that you need to upgrade your version of Daggerfall to Version 2.13 - The most recent, and most likely final patch for the game. All characters on this page are compatible with this version, and if you intend to submit a character here, then you will need to upgrade with this patch. It fixes a lot of the bugs (don't get too excited, it doesn't affect most of them at all), and also fixes a problem with "duplicate town names". If you are not sure what version of the game you have, then you should get this, just to be sure. Extract it into your "dagger" directory and run it to upgrade. |

Shortly after Daggerfall was released, Bethesda Softworks (the makers of the game) released a "special edition" (for CompUSA) that had a bunch of extra quests, a few new artifacts, and who knows what else. These are the files that you need to upgrade to this "special edition". Supposedly, Bethesda felt bad for releasing the special edition only for a specific group of users and released these files to the public because they are so darn cool! Just put all of the files into the "dagger\arena2" directory, and you're all set. |

Once you have played a character for a while, and have grown to know the character's personality, have role played the character well, and learned to really love him or her, it may be time to get this file. It allows you to make a Custom Biography for your character. You know the story that you get when you push the "History" button on the Character Sheet? That's what I'm talking about. It adds a lot to the quality of a character, if done well. I don't use it very often, but when I have a character that I really like, and a little time, I will use it. |
