Behold! Yea, verily, behold and cower in mortal terror! Hereabouts lie strewn my bounty. What meager few souls there have been worthy of my attention, thou wilt discover here. Trapped, held forever in bondage to my will, verily these are poor specimens, most barely deserving of my notice. Thee may plainly assess what base value doth I place upon them by the vessel wherein are they held. Some disgrace the valueless amber which imprisons them, yet no baser material couldst I find. Others, though they be stout souls, do disservice to the very crystal that binds them to their immemorial doom. Shouldst it pleaseth thee, take your leave to lift up any gem at your feet and peruse it more nearly. Thou wilt surely determine what slim merit mayest be exhibited. Sorely am I embarrassed to share such poverty of spirit with such as thee. Be it known, however, shouldst thou so desire, it is within thy reach to number thyself amongst these paltry examples of the genus "Hero." |
Characters marked with an amber have had something on them modified with a saved game editor. Examples include raising or lowering any attribute or skill, changing the position of your skills between your primary, major, minor, or miscellaneous slots, giving yourself any kind of equipment you did not find, changing the "style" of a piece of armor you have, giving yourself money, changing reputations, changing affiliations, changing advantages / disadvantages, basically anything that modifies your character in any way whatsoever. The only modifications which would not apply here would be changing your name, changing the name of your class (if you made a custom class), and editing your character's biography. A character with an amber is not considered remarkable.
Characters marked with a ruby are similar to the ones marked with the amber, only this character would be considered remarkable for one reason or another. Maybe the character has a very good theme to him, or the level of editing that was used is very light, or differs somehow from what you could consider fully cheating. Maybe the character's design is very well done, or maybe I just thought that the character was cool for some reason or another. At any rate, a ruby means that the character was edited in some fashion, but the character is definitely worthy of praise.
Characters marked with an emerald are completely legitimate characters that were not edited in any way whatsoever, except for the following exceptions: Changing the name, changing the name of the class (if you made a custom class), or editing the biography. An emerald means that the character is 100% legitimate, yet unremarkable.
Characters marked with a sapphire are completely legitimate characters that would be considered remarkable. Having a good theme, being exceptionally cool in one way or another, not running around blindly joining every guild you can, and having a definite personality are indicative qualities of the sapphire. A good role player, who really spends the time to develop the character, should have little trouble earning this gem.
Characters with a diamond are the cream of the crop. To earn this gem, you must be 100% legitimate, be at least level 15, and be considered remarkable, like the sapphire. What sets the diamond apart from the rest is that you must have never died. Any character that has never died for any reason other than game error can qualify for this gem. Dying and then reloading from before you died does not qualify. The rewards of having a legitimate high level character that has never died before are immeasurable, and since I have started playing this way, I have learned to love the game of Daggerfall in a new way. So, I have decided to promote this method of play on my page by assigning the most valuable of gems to those that would dare to accept the challenge. Acceptable ways to die and still earn the diamond include: Falling into the void, getting "stuck" on a creature and not being able to move while it kills you, loading the game and having a monster stuck inside of you (this is rare, but it happens), or having the game freeze in combat and being killed while helpless due to CPU overload. Basically any weird error that is unavoidable and causes your death is considered acceptable.
Also, a few more exceptions, any character that was killed and then revived by Stendarr (I've never seen it happen, but I know it can) is eligible, and dying in the Privateer's Hold (the first dungeon) is also acceptable, until you get outside. Dying from any of the types of "traps" is also ok. These are far too powerful, and it is my belief that they were supposed to have different graphics, but due to the rush to release the game, it was overlooked. Therefore, these are not considered "legitimate" deaths. Remember, to be assigned this gem, you must be both exemplary and have never died.

| Keophex of Wroth - |
keophex.zip - 60.5 KB | ||
| Level 22, Dark Elf\Vampire "Dark Minion" (Illusionist \ Assassin \ Witch \ Artifact Hunter) | |||
| Primary: Archery, Hand to Hand, Restoration Major: Critical Strike, Backstabbing, Illusion Minor: Stealth, Medical, Running, Dodging, Destruction, Lockpicking |
|||
| Affiliations: None. Keophex does not mingle with mortals, except Mordastyr Yeomsmith, the leader of the Wroth Coven of the Wrothgarian Mountains. | |||
| Keophex is the essence of evil. She murders for fun, actively tries to end life any way possible, and loves to fight dirty. I have made a long custom bio for her (in the history), which describes the dementia rather well. Basically, her goal is to get a complete set of the Artifacts the Daedra Princes send her to get. If you could "join" a witch's coven, and go up rank, she would be a "Master Witch". Basically, do quests for Wroth coven until you can afford to summon a Daedra, do it, get the artifact, store it, and start again. She currently has 13 artifacts acquired in this manner. Keophex is always invisible, and tries to make every hit a backstab, and usually pulls it off. Ebony material is her thing, and she's currently looking for a full suit (minus helmet, of course) of ebony. Keophex prefers the Bow and Fist style, but currently uses an Ebony Sabre and an Ebony Kite Shield, as she doesn't want to master anything yet. Keophex has a very dominant theme to her, and the depth that I have put into this character's personality is impossible to convey without much more space. Just be sure to read the history before you play her, it really makes you understand this character's psyche. | |||

| Hulpin Geplestish - |
hulpin.zip - 68.6 KB | ||
| Level 17, Argonian "Orc Predator" (Priest \ Orc Hunter \ Arms Courier \ Alterationist) | |||
| Primary: Alteration, Blunt Weapon, Axe Major: Orcish, Restoration, Dodging Minor: Critical Strike, Climbing, Stealth, Jumping, Backstabbing, Mysticism |
|||
| Affiliations: A mere Journeyman in the Mage's Guild, and a Diviner in the Order of Arkay | |||
| Hulpin has had an incredibly traumatic past. After the brutal murder of his mother and entire tribe at the hands of the Orcs, he has become fanatically vengeful against their entire race. Hulpin has little interest in the ways of the world, all he cares about is enacting vengeance against the orcs, and helping the Order of Arkay to ship the pieces of the Manshrieker Arsenal, the legendary weapons of war. Since this mission both helps the Order, and allows him to kill hordes of Orcs at a time, this is usually the only mission that Hulpin will accept from anybody. The biography I have made for this character defines his level of hatred well. Nothing makes him happier than crushing an Orc's skull, or severing an Orc's limbs, and watching it bleed to death in agony. Hulpin is quite insane, and nobody realizes it. He will not allow anybody to see his flesh, as he is extremely racist against anyone that is not an Argonian or a member of the Order, and he assumes anyone that sees his skin will react similarly to him. When he is on a courier mission, or in a dungeon for any other reason, we wears no mask, and wears his hood down, so that his victims can see the hatred in his eyes. While in town, he wears a mask with the hood of the Formal Cloak up, so nobody can see his green skin. Hulpin owns a $730,000 house in the southeast corner of the city of Dragontail, capitol city of the Dragontail mountains, where he lives with his wife, Virgga. | |||

| Kaemos Betonin | kaemos.zip - 93.3 KB | ||
| Level 21, Breton "Mystic" (Mage \ Demigod \ Soul Hunter \ Enchanter) | |||
| Primary: Mysticism, Blunt Weapon, Restoration Major: Alteration, Critical Strike, Dodging Minor: Etiquette, Lockpicking, Mercantile, Stealth, Running, Hand To Hand |
|||
| Affiliations: Archmage in the Mage's Guild, and a Patriarch in the Benevolence of Mara | |||
| Kaemos Betonin is the self - proclaimed Demigod of Judgement underneath the goddess Mara. No being on Tamriel could possibly pose a threat to Kaemos. She has achieved greater than 110% in all six of the spell spheres, therefore any spell of any sphere of any magnitude or duration costs her five of 450 spell points. She has explored spells that no other character I have seen has experimented with. She collects suits of armor, and enchants every piece to enhance certain qualities and skills. In her boat she has 3 such suits, and one on her person. She has a full suit of orcish, several full suits of dwarven and daedric, a full suit of adamantium, and lots of spare parts. Kaemos does not engage in melee with her staff, but uses magic exclusively in combat. She has approximately 3 million gold, and has never stolen one gold piece in her life. Many of the spells in her tome seem pointless, such as "Godly Presence", which she uses when on quests for Mara, and the "Detection" spells, which are mildly useful, but experimentation has taught me that even the more obscure spells can be excellent if used correctly. She collects Ancient Lich souls, and puts one in every artifact she creates. I would estimate that she has trapped over 50 so far. Kaemos is currently working on the main quest, and has not died since she was 6th level (although still not good enough for a diamond!). | |||

| Level 14, Khajiit "Cat Burglar" (Thief \ Smuggler \ Tomb Raider \ Mage) | |||
| Primary: Alteration, Illusion, Lockpicking Major: Hand To Hand, Pickpocket, Destruction Minor: Dodging, Critical Strike, Etiquette, Mercantile, Climbing, Jumping |
|||
| Affiliations: Through devotion and hard work, Sush has risen to the rank of Master Assassin in the Dark Brotherhood, been recognized as a Archmage and become a Master Thief | |||
| Sush Teag began her career with some severe limitations and to this day she doesn't wear any armour beyond a pair of gauntlets. She has a tendency to sneak in dungeons, especially around corners, and to be invisible as much of the time as she can afford. She is an expert with Short Blades of all varieties and that is her preferred weapon, though lately, she has taken to swinging a Daedric Dai-Katana she picked up. One of the little quirks that has been fun to develop with this character is that she has almost NO criminal record in her home province of Ilessan Hills. Recently, however, the city guards have tried to arrest her a number of times and she has twice acceded to their requests. Both times, she was accused of Criminal conspiracy and she actually beat it once. This was during the brief period when her rank with the Thieves was Ringleader. She moved to the town of Ipstry for a month or two and things seem to have settled down. In any case, she is mostly the upright citizen in her home town...she takes assignments from the other two associations while in other towns on Mages Guild business. She has taken almost every opportunity to hand research over to the Necromancers, and has taken up the very profitable hobby of spelunking. Her favorite site is "The Dungeon of Gondistyr" located just to the northwest of Ilessan Hills' capitol city. | |||

| Level 10, Breton "Rover" (Mage \ Monk \ Anarchist \ Pugilist) | |||
| Primary: Destruction, Illusion, Hand To Hand Major: Alteration, Critical Strike, Dodging Minor: Running, Restoration, Climbing, Backstabbing, Short Blade, Long Blade |
|||
| Affiliations: Mages Guild - Archmage | |||
| Serr Halece decided that he would not use weapons of destruction, but due to the need to protect himself, he has become very skilled in the fine art of fisticuffs (and he's pretty good with his feet, too). His father was a colleague of Jagar Tharn, and it was expected that he would follow in those footsteps, but Serr had other ideas. He couldn't reconcile the evil of his father with the things he was learning about the force of Magicka, so he struck out on his own, determined to be his own man. With that conviction he has come far, attaining the rank of Archmage in the Mages Guild. To his likely detriment, however, he has ignored every wish, request and demand of any member of the Imperial Court to take up the main quest of Daggerfall. His attitude is that he is his own man, beholden to no other, recognizing no King as having any sovereignty over him. Having achieved the goal of separating himself from his fathers history and finding some measure of redemption and credibility with the Mages Guild, Serr is at something of a loss for a purpose in life. Having just purchased a fine large ship, he is considering becoming a Merchant Mariner, sailing between the coastal provinces of the Iliac Bay, trading goods for profit. He has never picked up a weapon of any kind, depending instead on his ability to kick ass, literally. | |||

| Level 17, Breton "Infuser" (Mage \ Priest \ Warrior \ Knight) | |||
| Primary:Destruction (mastered), Restoration, Mysticism Major:Alteration, Mercantile, Dodging Minor: Climbing, Etiquette, Axe, Illusion, Thaumaturgy, Lockpicking |
|||
| Affiliations: Mages Guild Archmage, Disciple of Julianos, Keeper in the Order of the Raven , and has just joined the Fighter's Guild and achieved Journeyman | |||
| Nefernis was a very powerful mage at one point in his life, but his obsession with the destructive powers of magicka consumed him. Plain and simple, he worships magic. He is a disciple in the temple of Julianos, but he never really worshipped the god, he worshiped the magic. His lack of piety is what caused his downfall, as his luck failed at just the wrong moment. He was researching a spell that would rip the fabric of this Material Plane, causing a rift to the Negative Plane, disintegrating anything within a good sized area. He counted on Julianos to protect him from his own magic, but his luck failed, and was caught within the area of his own spell's effect. Nefernis was known throughout Tamriel as the foremost practitioner of the study of Destruction, and his notoriety spreads to every citizen of the Iliac bay. His wife, Kaemos Betonin, being a Patriarch of the mother goddess Mara, tried to sway Nefernis from his doomed course, but to no avail. They both shared the same love for magic, fine armor, the common people, and the nobility, but Nefernis lacked temperament. While a significant player in the annals of history, Nefernis' story is a tragic one, and should be used as an admonition to those that pass too far through the gates of obsession. | |||

| Primary: Lockpicking, Jumping, Climbing Major: Pickpocket, Streetwise, Mercantile Minor: Stealth, Alteration, Dodging, Running, Short Blade, Etiquette |
|||
| Affiliations: A Robber in the Theives Guild, and a Novice in the Resolution of Zenithar | |||
| Breemis is a very unusual character. I was trying to come up with something different when I made him, and I think I pulled it off nicely. I was tired of dungeons and magic, so this character doesn't do either. I only gave him 2 spells, Climb and Jump, so that he doesn't become dependant on magic. He stays in towns, and the only dungeon he has ever been in is the Privateer's Hold at the beginning of the game. Considering that he's making levels pretty quickly, it seems to be working well. Breemis travels through town by jumping from rooftop to rooftop, and likes to see how many people he can pickpocket in a row; So far the record is 8. He used to belong to the Mage's Guild, but only as a traitor. He made his 2 spells, and then stole the cloak he was supposed to guard. He would like to join them again in the future, so he can do the same thing to them. Breemis has little sense of honor, and will readily break a contract if it benefits him. He worships Zenithar, but rarely does any quests for the temple. Since he utterly refuses to enter a dungeon, this works out fine for him. Breemis is very cowardly, and when pursued by the City Guard, he will usually climb onto a rooftop, and jump away. He has been imprisoned a few times, but the Thieves Guild will gladly pay off the judge to keep one of their most dependable operatives in the field. | |||

| Deth Magus is a soul collecting evil mage from the seventh layer of hell. He has ultimate power in destruction and uses the custom Hellball spell to burn any foe into oblivion. Being a Breton he has a very high magic resistance and with his items absorbing a lot of spells he is almost immune to all of the effects of magic. Deth has an evil nature to him and loves to sadistically kill anything that threatens him. He has died only about eight or nine times so far. He is extremely skilled with the daedric long sword of disintegration that he carries. Deth has just only begun his affilliation into the thieves guild, he intends to become the head thiefmaster, and at a later time become a master assassin. He is working on a full set of daedric armour. He will enchant all of his magical items with the souls of powerful creatures. Deth likes to travel abroad not really settling anywhere. He hasn't stayed in a country for longer than it takes him to clean out a few major dungeons. | |||
