From my heart to yours…
Dear Member/Friend,

Changes! There are changes happening at our Center…great ones. One Saturday morning recently I was leaving the church building when I noticed a strange car in the parking lot. A woman got out and walked around the building. When she came back around I asked if I could help. She introduced herself and I realized it was the same person I'd just left a voice mail message responding to a previous call. She'd been directed to our church by a friend in Colorado. God does work in wondrous ways.

In the conversation that followed she asked if we'd like to have her sixteen- year-old son play for us the next morning. Of course I said yes, not even knowing what he played. I did wonder, however…I'm open to surprises. Sure enough the next morning they arrived. Bryan played his own piano composition for our meditation time. Come to find out he is the third rated in top composers for his age in the country. What a talent! He started composing music at age three. He is able to attend a movie, come home and play the score by ear - in the right key.

Brandon, two years older, who plays the cello, Tawni Wright, the mom of these brilliant young men and Bryan all give piano lessons. I was invited to their home to see what possibilities there are for adding to our music program at church. We can look forward to some interesting additions. Another facet of this story is that church member Larry Rogers, in going through some tapes he's had for years, discovered one called "First Impressions" by guess who…Tawni Wright. There are no accidents.

More good news…with a generous gift received we are able to procure a storage building, which will make all of the Sunday School area available for children's activities.

In addition there will be new carpet installed in this area and in Rev. Doris' office which will also get a new coat of paint. Jim Miller, master craftsman, who did the beautiful woodwork in the sanctuary, is building a shelving unit for one whole wall in the office. This will give much needed storage space.

Marilyn Irizarry has donated a new copier and a tape duplicator to replace the ones that have recently expired and Myrna Lathrop has purchased a new stove for our kitchen. The present stove is not yet dead yet but headed in that direction.

All of these demonstrations remind me that God is our source. One never has to figure out how but only tell God what the need is. Ain't it wonderful?

My computer just told me that ain't isn't acceptable. I knew that but some times it just fits.

If you haven't been to church for awhile, now may be the perfect time to come and be part of all the changes that are taking place. You'll find like minded people, inspiring talks, good music, open minds and hearts, interesting, informative classes, even great snacks and fabulous potlucks. It only gets better.

Growing together in love,

Rev. Doris
