SpokAnimal C.A.R.E.'s personnel structure follows a traditional 'line and staff' format, with the Board Of Directors providing major policy direction and overall Shelter objectives. The Executive Director is charged with the initiation and oversight of these objectives. The Executive Director develops and implements policy to this end, as well as providing overall shelter and staff management on a daily basis.
The Executive Director has at her disposal three department heads, who communicate, staff, and manage, the real-time programs designed to realize the shelter's objectives. Each department head provides supervision and direction to the various staff who comprise their respective departments. A Kennel/Receiving Supervisor provides additional supervision and direction to regular staff, relative to the care of animals who process through the shelter. Her function also includes the implementation and monitoring of disease control programs.
Most importantly, SpokAnimal's regular staff members are charged with the task of 'making it all happen on a daily basis,' while providing direction to the Shelter's dedicated volunteer corps.
