Step 17) Select 'PPP' from the 'Use protocol' menu.

Step 18) Select the check the first three boxes. Refer to the image to the right.

Step 19) Make sure that the check box for 'Connect to command-line host' is not checked.

Step 20) Click on the 'OK' button at the bottom.

Step 21) Close the 'Remote Access' window.

Step 22) Click on the 'Apple Menu' icon at the top left of the screen.

Step 23) Pause your cursor over the 'Control Panels' option, and Click on the 'Modem' submenu option.

Step 24) Make sure that in the 'Modem' area, the Apple internal modem is selected.

Step 25) Unless you specifically do not want to hear it, select the radio button for the 'On' option in the 'Sound' area.

Step 26) Make sure that the radio button for 'Tone' is selected for the 'Dialing' area.

Step 24) Make sure that in the check box for 'Ignore dial tone' is NOT selected.

Step 25) Close the modem window.
