DSL Setup for Westell (Verizon Only)

1) After hooking the Westell to the computer through either the USB or Ethernet connection, check the IP Configuration to make sure that the modem has assigned an IP address to the computer. By default that IP should be 192.168.1.47.

2) Next, open up Internet Explorer (Or what ever browser you use) and type http://192.168.1.1 into the addres bar and hit Enter. That should bring you to the Westell Modem login page.

3) In the Login Window type in "admin" for the Username and "password" for the Password then hit "Ok".

4) Next should come up a window asking for the Administration Name, Administration Password and to Verify Password. In here you can type in whatever you want want for the Admin Username and Password and it will become the new default Username and Password. We recomend typing in your Icehouse Username and Password that way if you ever forget what it is, you can call and we can look it up. After you have typed in the new Username and Password and verified the password click "Change".

5) The Westell Setup Wizard will come open next. Go ahead and click "Next".

6) A "Enter Network Password" window will pop open, go ahead and type in the new Username and Password that was typed in back on step #4.

7) Next is the "Username Window". Go ahead and leave everything as it is and click "Next".

8) Now the VPI/VCI screen should be up. Make sure VPI is 0 and VCI is 35, which should already be in there by default, and click "Next".

9) Next is the Protocol screen. It should be displaying PPPoE by default. Click onto the drop-down menu and select Bridge from the list. Once Bridge is selected click Next.

10) The Setup is now Complete. Go ahead and hit done. The modem should then restart and when it comes back up go ahead and have them check and see if they have a connection going through.

11) If you do not get a connection right away, go up and click on the Configuration Menu up top and then go to the Detect WAN Configuration. In here it will probably say "Detection Failed" right away, just go ahead and click on the "Detect Configuration" Button. Let it go through the whole detection process and when its done if it reports back with DHCP Server found, you should then be online and ready to go. If detection fails try powering off the DSL modem manually and then repeating this step.
