DSL Windows 95/98 Workstation Setup

  • Click on the 'Start' menu, then 'Settings', and then 'Control Panel'.
  • Double click on the 'Network' icon.
  • If TCP/IP is not in installed in the list box, go through the following instructions:
    • Click on the 'Add' button.
    • Double click on the 'Protocol' option.
    • Select the 'Microsoft' option on the left and then the 'TCP/IP' option on the right.
    • Click 'Ok'.
  • Double click TCP/IP from the list box.
  • Select the 'IP Address' tab.
  • If not already selected, select the 'Obtain an IP address automatically' option.
  • Select the 'Gateway' tab.
  • If any, remove all existing gateway entries.
  • Select the 'DNS Configuration' tab.
  • If not selected, select 'Disable DNS'.
  • Click 'Ok'.
  • If prompted, insert your Windows 95/98 CD.
  • If prompted, restart your computer.
