Cash Gifts
Every gift makes a difference. Whether $10 or $1000, a cash gift can be directed to whatever purpose you specify and will positively affect a student or students in our community. If you are considering a cash donation, you may be able to double the impact of your generosity. Your employer may support an educational matching gift program.Endowments
An endowment is a gift offered to a tax-exempt organization on the condition that the recipient will not spend the principal. Only the income generated through investing the principal is used. Advantages of giving a gift as an endowment:
- Provides a lifetime relationship between Cheney Area Dollars for Scholars and the donor
- Annual reports are sent to donors allowing the donor to see how their gift contributes to academic excellence and to increased opportunities for students.
- An endowment can be established to honor an individual who is significant to the donor or to memorialize a family member.
- Endowments can unrestricted or may be earmarked for specific areas of importance to the donor, such as, support for students based on field of study, community affiliations, academic excellence, or involvement in performing arts, athletics, etc.
- An endowment keeps giving over time and provides stability. Since the principal is not spent, an endowment generates earnings year after year.
