Chairperson for Academic Support Committee

Purpose
 1.  Oversee and promote academic support programs and activities.
 2.  Encourage exploration of academic support as a viable link to 
     higher levels of academic achievement.

Duties
 1.  Recruit committee members interested in providing educational 
     opportunities, enrichment, encouragement, and motivation to students.
 2.  Attend CSFA-sponsored workshops to learn more about academic support.
 3.  Assess community needs and study existing resources designed to assist 
     students in their preparation for higher education and career selection.
 4.  Oversee the forming of partnerships with existing programs or setting up 
     new programs to involve chapter members in academic support activities.
 5.  Assign a committee member to chair each program.
 6.  Make arrangements with Publicity Chairperson to publicize academic support 
     programs and activities.
 7.  Attend board meetings. 

Minimum Time Commitment
 1.  Four hours for assessment of needs and resources
 2.  One to two hours per committee meeting
 3.  Two hours monthly for ongoing coordination of activities
 4.  Two hours per monthly board meeting
